Introduction
We are seeking an experienced IBM Db2 Database Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimize our Db2 database environments. The ideal candidate will ensure high availability, performance, security, and integrity of our mission-critical database systems running on Linux/Unix/Windows platforms.
Your role and responsibilities
As a Delivery Consultant specializing in Technology Expert Labs for Databases within IBM's Data Platform, you will provide clients with world-class services to optimize the configuration, deployment, adoption, usage, and analysis of their Databases. This role involves working with various database technologies, including Cloudera & Hadoop, DataStax, Db2, Elastic, EnterpriseDB, Informix, MongoDB, Netezza, and SingleStore. Your primary responsibilities will include: • Implement Database Solutions: Deliver expert services to optimize database configuration, deployment, adoption, usage, and analysis for clients, ensuring seamless integration and maximum efficiency. • Support Client Adoption: Collaborate with clients to understand their database needs and provide tailored solutions to drive adoption and effective usage of database technologies. • Analyze Database Performance: Apply expertise to analyze database performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement optimization strategies to enhance overall database efficiency. • Deliver World-Class Services: Provide exceptional services to clients, ensuring high-quality delivery and exceeding client expectations in database management and optimization.
Required technical and professional expertise
Db2 Expertise (Required)
-6-10 years of hands-on experience with IBM Db2 LUW (Linux, Unix, Windows)

Strong knowledge of Db2 11.5 and 11.1

Proficiency in Db2 CLP (Command Line Processor) and SQL

Experience with Db2 installation, configuration, and upgrade procedures

Understanding of Db2 architecture, memory management, and storage structures
Operating Systems

Strong Linux/Unix administration skills (RHEL, SUSE, AIX preferred)

Experience with shell scripting (bash, ksh, perl) for automation

Windows Server administration experience (nice to have)

Advanced SQL programming and query optimization

Experience with stored procedures, triggers, and user-defined functions

Knowledge of database design principles and normalization

Understanding of ACID properties and transaction management
