The Opportunity
Job classification: Instructor

Salary range: $86,259 - $99,965. Placement within the range is typically based upon a review of skills, experience, and internal equity.
Hours per week: 37.5
Paid leave: 43 days vacation per year
Position End Date: June 30, 2027

We are looking for Instructors to teach the Electrical Apprenticeship, pre-employment electrician program, and Trades & Technology diploma program. Teaching this program requires in-depth knowledge of electrical theory, code and current residential and commercial trade practices. As part of our team, you are encouraged to be bold and inventive, bringing new ideas to the table.
Note: SAIT, as a post-secondary institution, serves a diverse student population. Therefore, instructional duties may occasionally be required during early mornings, evenings, and weekends. If selected, specific scheduling arrangements will be discussed between you and the leader.
How you'll contribute
Prepare for classes prior to delivery
Develop quality presentations for students
Attend all SAIT training as required
Achievement of School initiatives and Objectives
Provide accurate and up to date reporting of student marks
Willing to take on additional responsibilities as required per the position
Be an active and engaged member of the School
Adhere to all safety legislation, guidelines and safety standards as required
Maintain contact with industry sectors to assure technology is relevant
All other duties as required for the position
What you bring
Red Seal Electrician certification is required
Minimum of four years of field experience as a Journeyperson Electrician
Master Electrician Certification is preferred
Prior teaching experience in the electrical trades would be an asset
A university degree would be an asset
Knowledge & Skills
Fluent in English reading and vocabulary
Comfortable speaking to the public
Positive & respectful attitude
Basic level of Proficiency working in Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook
Basic understanding of common AI models
Ability to read, interpret and deliver specific curriculum
