This role manages a portfolio of donors and prospects, focusing on identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding gifts of $10,000 or more, including planned gifts and contributions to the Action Fund (501(c)(4)/PAC).

In collaboration with the Development team, the Major Gifts Officer develops and executes strategic engagement plans to grow the regional donor base and deepen long-term relationships. The position also partners with community leaders and regional volunteers to generate financial support and plays an active role in key fundraising events, including the annual Reel Women’s Film Festival and the Riverside County Cocktail Reception.

  • Regularly attend in-person meetings, calls, and events within San Diego, Riverside, and Imperial counties to engage with prospects.

  • Manage the solicitation process for major gifts and planned gifts, making solicitations of $10,000 or more and inviting donors to include PPPSW in their estate plans. Collaborate with senior leadership, volunteers, and other team members, as appropriate.

  • Create compelling, customized proposals and presentations for potential donors, demonstrating the impact of their philanthropy.

  • Ensure effective stewardship of Riverside County donors by sending thank-you notes, organizing meaningful recognition opportunities, and reporting back to donors on the outcomes of their gifts.

  • Utilize Raiser’s Edge to maintain up-to-date donor records, ensuring that all contact, solicitation, and stewardship activities are logged and documented.

  • Work closely with the Director of Major Gifts, leadership team, and other fundraising staff to develop and execute strategies to meet overall fundraising goals.

  • Work with volunteer committees to spur involvement with volunteers and community partners.

  • Ensure donor data is captured accurately in the CRM and that activities are tracked effectively.

  • Regularly track and report on progress with individual prospects, including setting and meeting annual goals for meetings, asks, and gift closures.

  • Provide regular reports on progress toward major gift goals, including fundraising projections, strategy adjustments, and donor insights.
