Join the dynamic team at Florida Window & Door, a leading provider of high-quality impact windows and doors in Florida. We are dedicated to excellence in home improvement and are currently seeking a Warehouse Associate to support our operations.
As a Warehouse Associate, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth functioning of our warehouse. You will assist with unloading deliveries, managing inventory, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the warehouse.
Full time job paying $18/hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving incoming merchandise and verifying that they are undamaged and of sound quality
- Counting received items
- Assisting install and service staff in retrieving specified merchandise from storage as per the work order
- Preparing merchandise for delivery or shipping by packaging and labeling them accordingly
- Maintaining accurate records of all incoming and outgoing merchandise
- Organizing warehouse merchandise and stacking them on shelves, bays and racks in accordance with company guidelines
- Performing all duties necessary to maintain facility cleanliness, including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, and dusting as needed
- Parts ordering
- Assisting in service projects as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Maintain regular attendance
- Proficient in OSHA standards
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of company staff
- Detail-oriented in tracking inventory accuracy and coordinating orders and shipping
- Highly organized and efficient, with the ability to problem-solve and prioritize
- Ability to lift 70 lbs. independently
- Basic computer competency is required
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting Capacity: Ability tolift, carry, and maneuver impact windows and doors weighing between 55 lbs. to 200 lbs. Manual assistance is required for items over 100 lbs.
- Team Lifting: For windows and doors exceeding 100 lbs., team lifting is required (typically 2 or more individuals depending on size and weight).
- Proper Lifting Techniques: Use of correct body mechanics, including bending at the knees and keeping the back straight to reduce strain.
Safety and Equipment Handling:
PPE Requirements: Employees are required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, steel-toed/composite boots, and safety glasses when lifting or handling windows and doors.
Clear Pathways: Must maintain clear pathways for the safe movement and transportation of windows and doors.
