Facilities Maintenance Technician chez Yellow Supply

About the Role:

We are seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance and upkeep of a modern industrial warehouse facility. This is a hands-on, labor-focused role to ensure the building and property remain safe, functional, and well maintained.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, dependable, and comfortable solving practical problems related to building systems and general facility maintenance. Candidates with experience in the trades, construction, equipment service, or property maintenance are encouraged to apply.

This role primarily supports our Shepherdsville facility, with occasional short-term assignments at other company properties if needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine building maintenance and preventative maintenance tasks
• Assist with painting, cleaning, light repairs, and general facility upkeep
• Maintain exterior grounds including brush removal, cleanup, and minor landscaping
• Access the roof as needed for inspections and minor maintenance work
• Safely use ladders, lifts, forklifts, and other facility equipment (training provided)
• Drive a company box truck for parts pickup and maintenance support (no CDL required)
• Coordinate and oversee outside contractors performing services such as HVAC maintenance, fire suppression inspections, lawn care, or snow removal
• Work alongside the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to manage maintenance schedules and property needs
• Record maintenance activities, inspections, and contractor work using a smartphone or tablet

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform physical maintenance work
• Building or facilities-related experience is a plus
• Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, and rooftops
• Ability to operate or learn to operate forklifts and other facility equipment
• Valid driver’s license
• Comfortable using a smartphone or tablet for documentation and communication
• Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work independently or as part of a small team
   

Schedule

• Full-time position, up to 40 hours per week
• Schedule is generally consistent week to week
• Occasional on-call work after hours or on weekends may be required depending on facility needs

Work Environment

This role involves indoor and outdoor work at an active industrial warehouse facility. The job includes physical tasks such as lifting, climbing ladders, operating equipment, and performing general property maintenance.
