THE OPPORTUNITY: A Greenfield Leadership Role

This is a unique, high-impact opportunity to support Acusensus in partnering with European countries to achieve their Vision Zero objectives - making the roads safer for all. As a "founder-like" leader, you will transition from a solitary director role to establishing a fully-fledged regional operation.

Your core mandate will involve:

• Market Entry & Strategy: Identifying and prioritising viable countries based on road safety needs and regulatory landscapes.
• Policy Advocacy: Spearheading legislative changes to enable the adoption of technology that combats distracted driving.
• High-Level Engagement: Building relationships with Ministries of Transport, Police Forces, and road safety advocacy groups.
• Business Development: Personally identifying and closing initial strategic pilot projects and commercial contracts.
• Operational Setup: Establishing foundational operations, including legal and financial structures, with support from our Global HQ.

WHO YOU ARE

You are a fearless advocate for road safety with a proven track record of launching technology solutions into the European public sector.

• Experience: 15+ years of progressive business development and leadership experience.
• Sector Expertise: Deep understanding of European government landscapes, specifically in road safety, transport, law enforcement, or "smart cities".
• Skills: Exceptional negotiation, cross-cultural agility, and the resilience to build a business from scratch.
• Network: Existing "gravitas" and the ability to influence policy and navigate complex multi-jurisdictional procurement processes.
• Languages: Fluency in English and German is required (additional European languages are a plus).

YOUR WORKING ENVIRONMENT

• Nature of Role: We are open to this being a B2B consultancy engagement or employer relationship. If your preference is B2B, the successful candidate will operate as an independent entity/freelancer and will be responsible for their own tax and social security contributions.
• Commitment: Full time or a minimum of 3 days per week, pending on your personal situation, leading to a full time position as the business develops.
• Location: Remote-based. Germany is strongly preferred; however, we will also consider candidates based in the Netherlands, Belgium, or Denmark.
• Reporting: You will liaise with or report directly to the Chief Customer Officer based in Melbourne, Australia. Please note your manager travels globally, and the role requires occasional travel on short notice.
