Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Contracts Engineer to manage end-to-end service procurement and contract administration for fabrication and allied industrial services. The role requires strong techno-commercial expertise, vendor development capability, and experience in project-based procurement within Oil & Gas / Fired Equipment / Process Equipment sectors. This position plays a critical role in ensuring cost optimization, vendor reliability, contractual compliance, risk mitigation, and on-time project execution.

Procurement & Contract Management

  • Manage end-to-end procurement of fabrication-related services including:
  • Fabrication contracts
  • Blasting & painting services
  • Packaging & logistics
  • Crane and heavy equipment rentals
  • Transportation services
  • Manpower supply contracts
  • Draft, review, and administer service contracts aligned with project requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with technical specifications, statutory norms, and commercial terms.
  • Mitigate contractual and commercial risks.
  • Vendor Development & Performance Management

  • Identify and onboard capable local/regional vendors.
  • Conduct vendor capability assessments (technical, quality, capacity, financial stability).
  • Maintain and update Approved Vendor List (AVL).
  • Track vendor KPIs: cost, quality, delivery, safety compliance.
  • Drive vendor performance improvement initiatives.
  • RFQ & Tendering Process

  • Review Purchase Requisitions (PRs) and clarify scope with Engineering/Project teams.
  • Issue RFQs to shortlisted vendors.
  • Perform techno-commercial evaluations.
  • Prepare comparative statements and cost breakdown analysis.
  • Identify cost optimization opportunities.
  • Negotiation & Contract Finalization

  • Lead commercial negotiations covering pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, LD clauses, and warranty terms.
  • Finalize contracts aligned with company risk management framework.
  • Issue Purchase Orders (POs) and Work Orders post-approval.
  • Order Execution & Expediting

  • Track service execution progress against project timelines.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC, Planning & Project teams.
  • Manage change orders, variation claims, and deviations.
  • Ensure documentation closure and milestone tracking.
  • Documentation & Cost Control

  • Maintain procurement history and cost database.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Develop benchmarking tools for cost comparison.
  • Provide cost inputs for budgeting and forecasting.
  • Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Mandatory)
  • 5–8 years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas / Fired Equipment / Process Equipment industry
  • Strong understanding of fabrication processes, welding standards, coating systems, and heavy equipment handling
  • Experience in handling high-value service contracts
  • Proficiency in contract drafting and interpretation
  • Strong knowledge of Incoterms, LD clauses, payment structures, and warranty clauses
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work within project-driven timelines
