Summary of the Role
We are seeking an Assurance Senior/Manager with 5+ years of public accounting experience to work on-site in our Richmond office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in assurance, excellent client service skills, and the ability to independently manage multiple projects. Key Responsibilities
Assurance Services:
- Plan and perform audits, reviews, and compilation engagements.
- Assess and evaluate internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Identify and communicate audit findings and recommendations for improvements.
- Collaborate with clients to gather necessary financial data and documents.
- Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings to senior management and stakeholders.
Client Management:
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for client inquiries and concerns.
- Communicate proactively, clearly and effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions.
- Understands engagement/project profitability and effectively communicates status/issues
Team Leadership and Development:
- Mentor, train, evaluate and provide feedback to staff accountants and interns.
- Delegate tasks effectively and ensure the completion of high-quality work.
- Provide regular feedback and conduct performance evaluations.
Operational and Technical Excellence:
- Identify, research and resolve technical issues in audit engagements.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines independently and efficiently.
- Act as “champion” in either technology area and/or specialized technical knowledge area.
- Identify and resolve issues that may impact engagement quality or efficiency.
- Share best practices and time-saving techniques with team members.
Requirements
Qualifications
Experience
- At least 5+ years of current experience in public accounting required, focusing on Assurance.
- Licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.
- Proficiency in Thomson Reuters software suite, QuickBooks (desktop and online) and Excel preferred.
