About the Role
A luxury residential high‑rise in Jersey City is seeking a skilled, reliable Lead Handyman to oversee day‑to‑day maintenance operations and ensure an exceptional living experience for residents. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, communicates well, and thrives in a fast‑paced, service‑oriented environment.
Compensation: Up to $29/hour

Experience Required: 5+ years in building maintenance or handyman roles
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general repairs including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and appliance troubleshooting
- Lead and coordinate daily maintenance tasks for the building
- Respond promptly to resident service requests with a professional, customer‑focused approach
- Conduct routine inspections of common areas, mechanical rooms, and building systems
- Maintain accurate records of work orders, materials, and equipment
- Assist with vendor coordination and supervise contracted work when needed
- Ensure all maintenance activities meet safety and building code standards
- Support emergency response efforts (e.g., leaks, outages, urgent repairs)
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of hands‑on maintenance or handyman experience, preferably in residential or high‑rise settings
- Strong knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC support, and general building systems
- Ability to diagnose issues quickly and execute high‑quality repairs
- Excellent communication and customer‑service skills
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical tasks as needed
- Reliable, organized, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
