Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Chief Engineer to oversee and coordinate the maintenance, operations, and management of our manufacturing facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, technical expertise in industrial maintenance, electrical systems, and facilities management, along with excellent project management skills. This role requires a proactive approach to ensure optimal performance, safety, and compliance across all engineering functions within the organization.

Pay: $55.04 - $59.00 per hour

Duties

• Assist the Chief Engineer in planning, directing, and supervising all maintenance and engineering activities across manufacturing facilities.
• Oversee the operation and troubleshooting of HVAC systems, electrical systems (including high and low voltage), and mechanical equipment.
• Manage maintenance schedules using CMMS software to ensure timely repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Supervise a team of technicians and maintenance staff, providing leadership, training, and performance evaluations.
• Review schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams to diagnose issues related to industrial equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations related to electrical systems (including high voltage) and industrial maintenance procedures.
• Coordinate projects involving facility upgrades or modifications, ensuring timely completion within budget.
• Monitor system performance metrics and implement improvements using project management principles.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and safety inspections.
• Collaborate with other departments to optimize manufacturing processes through effective facilities management.

Requirements

• Proven experience in facilities management or industrial maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong supervisory experience with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
• Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems (high voltage and low voltage), mechanical systems, schematics, and industrial maintenance practices.
• Proficiency with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools.
• Experience with CMMS software for maintenance management.
• Familiarity with project management methodologies for facility upgrades or process improvements.
• Excellent communication skills in English for effective team coordination and reporting.
• Mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience is essential for troubleshooting complex issues.
• Ability to interpret schematics and technical manuals accurately.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in safety compliance and record keeping.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing setting is highly preferred. • A current and valid stationary engineer’s license is required
• Membership in the IUOE Local 399 is required within 60 days of employment start date.
