Description

As a Feedstuffs Trader, you will be responsible for the origination, trading, and execution of physical feed commodities across European and international markets. The role combines commercial trading responsibility, supplier and customer relationship management, and logistics coordination, with a strong focus on margin optimisation and market risk awareness.

You will work closely with internal teams across logistics, operations, finance, and risk, and actively contribute to the growth and profitability of Glatz International’s feed trading portfolio.

Requirements

Trading & Commercial

  • Trade physical feed commodities (e.g. grains, oilseed meals, feed ingredients) across regional and international markets
  • Develop and manage a profitable trading book, optimising margins and volumes
  • Identify new sourcing and sales opportunities with producers, processors, and end customers
  • Negotiate purchase and sales contracts, including price, quality, delivery terms, and payment conditions
  • Monitor market trends, supply/demand dynamics, and price movements to support trading decisions

Risk & Market Management

  • Manage price risk, counterparty risk, and execution risk within defined limits
  • Ensure compliance with internal trading policies and risk frameworks
  • Work closely with management on position reporting, P&L analysis, and exposure monitoring

Logistics & Execution

  • Coordinate shipments, deliveries, and logistics in cooperation with internal operations teams
  • Resolve execution issues related to quality, quantity, documentation, or timing
  • Liaise with surveyors, freight providers, warehouses, and inspectors as required

Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with suppliers, customers, brokers, and logistics partners
  • Represent Glatz professionally in negotiations, industry meetings, and market discussions

Internal Collaboration

  • Work closely with finance on invoicing, payments, and credit exposure
  • Support back-office processes, contract confirmations, and documentation
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of trading processes and market intelligence

Benefits

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Feedstuffs Trader / Agricultural Commodities Trader
  • Strong understanding of physical commodities trading, contracts, and logistics
  • Experience in European feed markets preferred

Skills & Knowledge

  • Solid knowledge of feed commodities, market structures, and pricing mechanisms
  • Strong negotiation and commercial skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple transactions simultaneously
  • High analytical skills with strong commercial judgement
  • Risk-aware mindset with attention to detail

Education

  • Degree in Business, Economics, Agriculture, Logistics, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory)

Languages

  • English: fluent (mandatory)
  • German: working proficiency preferred
