The Project Manager I is responsible for the planning, execution, and completion of projects across different departments. This role involves leading project activities, managing timelines, and ensuring effective communication among team members. In addition to managing projects independently, the Project Manager I coordinates PMO planning and reporting activities, including facilitating the integration of department roadmaps with the PMO project roadmap and ensuring timely, accurate reporting to stakeholders. The Project Manager is expected to drive project success through proactive coordination, leadership, and effective oversight of PMO processes, including leveraging AI tools to optimize intake, planning, execution, and reporting.
Essential Functions
- Use approved AI tools to streamline project intake and early-stage planning by drafting clear problem statements, objectives, scope boundaries, success measures, and initial assumptions to support PMO approval committee readiness.
- Plan and facilitate the PMO approval committee and track projects approved by the committee for the PMO project roadmap.
- Work closely with functional areas to ensure their department roadmaps are integrated with the PMO project roadmap as appropriate.
- Use AI to automate and enhance status reporting by consolidating updates (e.g., from Microsoft Planner and project artifacts), surfacing blockers, and generating concise reporting for stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure resource availability and allocation.
- Create and maintain repeatable AI-assisted templates and standard work (e.g., project plans, project kickoff, comms plan, status update format) to improve consistency and reduce PMO administrative burden.
- Stay current with emerging AI trends and recommend innovative solutions to enhance project management practices.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, values, code of ethics, and compliance/security standards.

Requirements
Knowledge, Skills. and Abilities
- 1–3 years of project management experience required.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Knowledge of, and experience with, project management fundamentals and methodologies, including Waterfall and Agile.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Planner, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Ability to use approved AI tools to support day-to-day project work (drafting communications, summarizing updates, organizing project artifacts) while validating accuracy and applying appropriate human review.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Physical and Mental Requirements
- Sitting/Standing (alternatively) continuously.
- Extensive keyboard use--repetitive hand motion.
- Skill/ability related to comprehension, organization, problem solving, reasoning/decision-making and communication with significant impact on the department and the organization.
