Your role and responsibilities

As a Technical Product Manager, you will create and deliver technical assets to demonstrate user experience and related offering value props. You will drive business strategies and product vision, leveraging your deep domain and business expertise to identify target markets and opportunities.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Develop Product Vision and Roadmap: Build a credible product vision and roadmap, selling it to internal stakeholders and driving prioritization and release planning with engineering teams based on market facts and trends.

  • Drive Business Strategies: Identify target markets and opportunities, determining the right business strategies to pursue based on IBM's strengths and market opportunities.

  • Function as Product Owner: Act as a "product owner" for development teams, determining acceptable scope and schedule for releases in the context of other business requirements and technical debt.

  • Perform Product Technology Assessments: Conduct robust product technology assessments and benchmarks to ensure differentiation.

  • Translate Market Needs: Translate market needs into development plans based on a deep understanding of product portfolio capabilities.

Required technical and professional expertise

  • Deep Domain Expertise: Deep expertise in identifying target markets and opportunities based on user problems, trends, and market dynamics, with the ability to determine the right business strategies to pursue.

  • Technical Asset Development: Experience with creating and delivering technical assets to demonstrate user experience and related offering value props, leveraging deep domain and business expertise.

  • Product Vision and Roadmap Development: Experience in building a credible product vision and roadmap, with the ability to sell it to internal stakeholders and drive prioritization and release planning with engineering teams.

  • Product Technology Assessment: Experience with conducting robust product technology assessments and benchmarks to ensure differentiation, with a deep understanding of product portfolio capabilities.

  • Product Ownership: Experience functioning as a "product owner" for development teams, determining acceptable scope and schedule for releases in the context of other business requirements and technical debt.

Preferred technical and professional experience

  • Deep Domain Knowledge: Experience with analyzing market trends, user problems, and market dynamics to inform business strategies and identify opportunities.

  • Technical Asset Creation: Exposure to designing and delivering technical assets that effectively demonstrate user experience and offering value propositions.

  • Product Portfolio Understanding: Experience with translating market needs into development plans based on a thorough understanding of product portfolio capabilities.
