Job Summary
The Spare Parts Manager is responsible for the strategic management, availability, and lifecycle control of spare parts critical to DISA’s equipment, production units, and field operations. This role ensures the right parts are available at the right time to minimize downtime, support maintenance and field service, and enable efficient operations across manufacturing, deployment, and service activities.
Building upon core inventory and procurement functions, the Spare Parts Manager owns spare parts planning, forecasting, stocking strategies, and supplier coordination, while maintaining accurate system records and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic start-up environment, wearing multiple hats and contributing to many areas of business development.
Education/ Experience
- High School diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.
- 4–7 years of experience in spare parts management, inventory control, maintenance stores, or industrial supply chain roles.
- Six sigma certification required, green belt or higher preferred.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, mining, engineering, or heavy equipment environments strongly preferred.

Typical Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and manage spare parts strategies to support manufacturing, maintenance, and field service needs
- Establish and maintain optimal stocking levels based on usage, lead times, criticality, and failure risk
- Ensure high availability of critical spare parts to minimize equipment downtime
- Own spare parts inventory accuracy, including cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation
- Maintain accurate part master data, BOM associations, and inventory records within the ERP system
- Coordinate procurement of spare parts, including sourcing, purchase orders, expediting, and supplier communication
- Track and manage open purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of critical components
- Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and Field Teams to forecast spare parts demand
- Support new equipment builds, unit deployments, and modifications by ensuring required spare parts are identified and stocked
- Manage receiving, inspection, labeling, storage, and kitting of spare parts
- Oversee internal material movements to align with work orders, service requests, and project tracking
- Identify obsolete, excess, or slow-moving inventory and recommend disposition strategies
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory optimization, system accuracy, and process efficiency.
- Abide by all policies and procedures established by DISA.
- Attend and participate in all required safety trainings.
- Assist with any task required by the direct supervisor.

- Proficiency with ERP systems and inventory control processes.
- Ability to analyze usage trends, lead times, and criticality to inform stocking decisions.

- Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, to collaborate with colleagues, stakeholders, and clients.

- Be a valid U.S. citizen or legally authorized to work in the United States.

Physical Requirements
- Must be able to sit and/ or stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Must be able to interact with people and technology while either standing or sitting.

- Ability to travel up to 25%.
- Must be able to perform repetitive tasks such as typing.
