Description
We’re looking for an Experienced Residential HVAC Service Technician ready to take the next step into a leadership role. This position is ideal for a strong residential service tech with 2–5 years of hands-on experience who also has experience leading, mentoring, and helping build a service team.
You’ll remain active in the field while playing a key role in supporting junior technicians, improving service processes, and helping grow a high-performing residential HVAC service department.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Diagnose, service, and repair residential HVAC systems (gas furnaces, heat pumps, AC, boilers, mini-splits)
- Perform preventative maintenance and system tune-ups
- Clearly explain issues and solutions to homeowners in a professional, friendly manner
- Accurately complete service tickets, notes, and recommendations
- Follow safety procedures and company standards
- Maintain a clean, organized service vehicle
- Participate in on-call rotation as needed
- Upsell repairs and replacements ethically and honestly when appropriate
- Lead by example with a strong focus on quality workmanship, safety, and customer experience
- Mentor and support junior residential technicians; assist with onboarding and training
- Help build and refine residential service department systems, workflows, and standards
- Communicate clearly with dispatch, management, and homeowners
- Provide troubleshooting support and technical guidance to other technicians
- Maintain accurate service documentation
- Represent the company professionally in customers’ homes
Requirements
- 2–5 years of residential HVAC service experience
- HVAC Journeyman
- EPA Universal Certification (required)
- Experience acting as a lead technician, mentor, or trainer
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills on residential systems
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Strong communication, leadership, and customer-facing skills
- Ability to work independently while supporting team development
