Job Summary: The Membership Representative will serve as the primary contact for the members of the Florida Veterinary Medical Association, ensuring high-quality customer service & member satisfaction. This role involves managing member inquiries via phone & email, processing application & renewal forms, and supporting the Membership Department in conference-related activities. The Membership Representative is required to attend FVMA-hosted events, as well as industry conferences & trade shows outside the organization which leads to occasional travel within and outside of the state of Florida.
Key Responsibilities:
Member Support: Addressing any membership-related concerns via phone, email, or in person, while aiding members in understanding and utilizing their membership benefits.
Membership Management: Process new member registrations, current member renewals, and following up on expired memberships. Maintain accurate and up-to-date member records in the association's database. Computer familiarity is a necessity for this position.
Issue Resolution: Strong verbal skills are necessary to communicate with members on veterinary related issues to ensure member satisfaction. Familiarity with the veterinary field is highly recommended.
Collaboration: Work with other departments to improve overall member services while also supporting the Meetings Department in conference-related tasks.
Feedback: Collect feedback from members to suggest improvements and prepare reports on membership status and trends.
Report: Reports to the Director of Membership & Engagement.
Other: Any additional duties assigned within reason.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, or a related field is preferred. Veterinary technician degree is also preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in customer service or membership services. Experience in the veterinary field is preferred.
- Skills: Excellent phone communication, strong organizational abilities, and proficiency in using software/computers.
- Attributes: Member-focused, detail-oriented, and the initiative to work independently as well as part of a team.
