Description
A Content Writer at Energy Circle is at their core a savvy writer, strategic thinker, and strong task manager. They play a crucial role in creating content to sustain clients’ marketing strategies, formulate content for new website builds, and assist in developing SEO (now GEO)-enhancing on-site content as well as copy for paid advertising. They work closely with the rest of the content team as well as the account management team, account managers, and strategists. This individual must be able to:
- Write engaging online content about the energy efficiency, HVAC, home performance, and solar sectors.
- Produce the following content types (among others): blog posts, website landing pages, marketing copy, infographics, video scripts, paid advertising copy, etc.
- Demonstrate knowledge and use of GEO (formerly SEO) best practices (including but not limited to writing metadata, performing keyword research, etc.).
- Produce monthly content and brainstorm content ideas for a number of clients
- Attend website project kickoffs, interview clients, create sitemaps, and create content for new client websites
- Review and edit content produced by other writers
- Collaborate with the EC internal marketing team to produce ongoing content
- Potentially provide support as needed on podcast production, video production, image and testimonial curation, as well as a variety of other, ancillary tasks associated with content and multimedia production.
Requirements
- Strong writing skills with an understanding of marketing and content strategy concepts.
- Experience in content development and writing is a big plus, but not necessary if writing skills can be otherwise demonstrated.
- A degree in English, journalism, something similar—or equivalent experience.
- Strong task and project management skills with an ability to effectively meet deadlines.
- Marketing experience, and/or experience in the fields of journalism and research are strongly beneficial and preferred.
- Satisfaction found in working collaboratively in a team environment.
- A commitment to developing deep knowledge of energy efficiency, home performance, building science, and related sectors.
