PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The front desk operator is responsible for maintaining the front desk, providing quality customer service and ensuring the safety of Club members. Must be cooperative, friendly and able to create a harmonious environment.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
1. Operate and manage the Clubhouse front desk
- Maintain the safety, security and appearance of the front desk
- Greet, monitor and track all visitors
- Supervise all equipment checkout and return
- Answer all phone calls
- Communicate and disperse information about upcoming events and activities to members and the public
- Maintain supplies for facility and front desk
- Recognize volunteers for their assistance daily
2. Maintain all membership and tracking systems of the Club
- Work with unit directors to track membership for grant requirements
- Track program and membership data for reports as needed for program support
- Maintain all Club documents and filing system
- Be responsible for membership cards
- Be responsible for following the proper protocols and procedures when taking payments and handling all currency
3. Supervision:
- Assist with the implementation and enforcement of safety policies/procedures regarding participant safety, risk management, and building security.
- Assist with the up-keep of Club maintenance and appearance.
- Handle minor youth conflict as it occurs in programs.
4. Other Duties:
- Abide by Club's policies, procedures, and federal and state laws
- Attend board, staff and committee meetings, and other Club events
- Wear uniform while working at or attending Club functions
RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Maintains close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/ instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel.
External: Maintains contact with external community groups, schools, members' parents and others to assist in resolving problems.
Requirements
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- High school diploma / GED or currently enrolled in school with work permit (if minor)
- Experience in working with children
- Knowledge of youth development
- Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems
- Ability to deal with the general public
- Ability to implement quality programs for youth
- Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment
- Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications (can obtain through Club)
- Valid State Drivers License (recommended)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
A majority of time will be spent sitting or standing. Moderate lifting will be required from time to time.
