Job Summary

DuPage Machine Products is seeking a hands-on Hydromat Setup Supervisor to support and lead production within our Hydromat EPIC HF FANUC rotary transfer department.

This role is ideal for an experienced Hydromat setup technician who wants leadership responsibility while remaining actively involved in machine setups, tooling, troubleshooting, and process optimization.

The Hydromat Setup Supervisor works directly on the shop floor, performing setups, supporting operators, and ensuring consistent production across four (4) Hydromat EPIC HF machines.

Primary Responsibilities

Hands-On Hydromat Setup & Support

• Perform complete job setups on Hydromat EPIC HF rotary transfer machines
• Set and verify:
• Tool lengths and offsets
• Station timing and sequencing
• Part transfer and clamping
• Support changeovers and production startups
• Diagnose and correct:
• Tool wear and breakage
• Station alignment issues
• Transfer timing problems
• Part ejection concerns
• Work directly with FANUC controls for setup support and alarm troubleshooting

Production & Process Control

• Maintain target cycle times and production output
• Verify process stability before releasing jobs to operators
• Monitor part quality throughout production runs
• Adjust tooling and offsets to maintain print compliance
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce scrap and downtime

Tooling & Process Optimization

• Coordinate tooling requirements with Tool Room
• Select and approve:
• Inserts
• Holders
• Drills, taps, reamers, and form tools
• Improve tool life and station efficiency
• Assist Engineering with process development and documentation

Leadership & Supervision

• Lead Hydromat operators and setup personnel on shift
• Provide hands-on training and mentoring
• Assign daily priorities and machine responsibilities
• Enforce safety standards and PPE compliance
• Support performance feedback and skill development

Quality & Documentation

• Ensure first-piece inspections and approvals
• Support SPC and capability studies
• Assist with corrective action investigations
• Verify compliance with:
• Blueprints and GD&T
• Customer-specific requirements
• ISO 9001 / AS9100 standards

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on Hydromat or CNC setup experience
• Strong experience with Hydromat machines preferred
• Working knowledge of FANUC controls
• Ability to independently perform complete multi-station setups
• Strong understanding of:
• Rotary transfer machining principles
• Station sequencing and timing
• Tool interaction across multiple stations
• Blueprint reading and GD&T proficiency
• Experience using precision inspection equipment
• Prior lead or informal supervisory experience preferred

Preferred Experience

• High-volume production machining
• Steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and alloy materials
• Multi-spindle or rotary transfer environments
• Process documentation and routing development
• ERP systems (Vantage preferred)

Work Environment

This is a working supervisor position requiring regular machine interaction. Standing, lifting, tool changes, coolant exposure, and troubleshooting at active machines are routine. PPE is required at all times.
