Boys Middle School Volleyball – Head Coach
Location: Chelsea, New York, NY (10001)
Season Dates: March 2, 2026 – May 18, 2026
Compensation: $3,000–$3,400 (commensurate with experience)
Position Overview
Avenues: The World School is seeking an experienced Boys Middle School Volleyball Head Coach for the Spring 2026 season. This is a head coaching role responsible for leading all aspects of the middle school boys volleyball program, including practices, games, player development, and program culture.
The ideal candidate is an experienced volleyball coach with prior head coaching experience, a strong understanding of middle school athletes, and a commitment to positive youth development.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Head Coach for the Boys Middle School Volleyball team
- Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate practices
- Develop fundamental volleyball skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship
- Manage game-day coaching and strategy
- Supervise student-athletes during practices and competitions
- Communicate effectively with athletic department staff and families
- Travel with the team to away games as required
- Represent Avenues with professionalism and integrity
Practice & Game Schedule
- Practice Days: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
- Practice Times (vary by day):
- 4:00–5:30 PM
- 7:00–8:20 AM
- Wednesdays may include 3:00–4:30 PM practices
- Away Games: Coach must be available to depart campus as early as 2:30 PM on game days
Qualifications
- Prior head coaching experience (required)
- Volleyball coaching experience at the middle school or youth level preferred
- Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with middle school boys
- Commitment to athlete development and team culture
