DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION

The Procurement Specialist will provide support to properties regarding all activities related to purchasing and receiving.  This position will be focused on ensuring the profitability of each property as well as the Corporate through cost savings and quality.

Under the direction of the Regional Controller, responsibilities may include:

  • Updating and maintaining our E-Procurement system to include finding new sources for specific products and services, as well as vetting those vendors to eliminate fraud.
  • Conduct E-Procurement System training on a periodic basis to on-board new managers across all entities.
  • Work directly with Hotel General Managers, Financial Controllers and Department Heads to find the best price and product quality.
  • Continuously reviewing pricing to ensure forecasted/budget accuracy and communicate to Hotel GM and FC for any major changes.
  • Work directly with Corporate Accounts Payable staff to address any vendor issues.
  • Maintain timely interaction with representatives with our supply management company, currently Hilton Supply Management(HSM), to ensure participation levels are at acceptable levels to ensure maximum program rebates.
  • Analyze Market trends and recommend changes to purchasing process.
  • Maintain strong key vendor relationships.
  • Ensure all procurement activities meet Millennium Hotels & Resorts policies, ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain records and general ad-hoc reports on purchases, pricing and performance.
  • The salary range is up to $60,000.00 and based on experience, and the position offers various benefits.

Requirements

  • Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance or related field.
  • Skills:  Strong communication (written/verbal) critical thinking, analytical, problem solving, organization and multitasking abilities.
  • Knowledge:  Proficiency with procurement software (BirchStreet) and relevant industry trends.
  • Experience:  Experience in purchasing, supply chain, especially in the Hotel Industry.
