The TX Manager – Retail is responsible for overseeing all TX functions for retail stores located along the East Coast (Massachusetts to Florida), West Coast (Oregon to California), and all states in between. This role ensures consistent TX practices, compliance with labor laws, and proactive employee relations support across multiple states and regions.
Reporting to the US TX Director, this leader will partner closely with regional and district retail management to foster a positive, high-performance culture aligned with the company’s mission of being the GLOBAL TREND DESTINATION FOR GENZ.
A separate team handles recruitment; this role focuses on employee relations, compliance, coaching, and field support.
Organizational Contribution & Influence
This role collaborates with HQ TX, and the Retail departments, fostering strong relationships and ensuring alignment on people initiatives, daily processes, and team support.
Key Responsibilities
-Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations matters across retail locations.
-Provide guidance to store, district, and regional managers on employee relations, disciplinary actions, and performance management.
-Oversee multi-state ER matters, lead investigations, ensure accurate documentation, and enforce wage/hour and labor law compliance across all regions.
-Ensure multi-state compliant onboarding by auditing I-9 completion, new hire documentation, system accuracy, and training alignment across all retail locations.
-Respond to TX inquiries and cases in a timely, professional manner through the TX helpdesk or email.
-Collaborate with Payroll and Operations teams to resolve timekeeping, scheduling, and payroll discrepancies.
-Ensure timely and compliant offboarding, exit insights reporting, final pay accuracy, and risk mitigation across multi-state separations.
-Advise managers on TX policy interpretation and compliance with state and federal employment laws.
-Partner with the Recruiting team only during high-volume needs such as New Store Openings and Seasonal Hiring to support interview coordination, SLAs, and compliance readiness.
-Drive cross-regional engagement, recognition, retention strategies, and culture assessments to strengthen the retail employee experience.
-Lead field audits, wage/labor regulation reviews, policy enforcement, and corrective actions to ensure full compliance across all markets.
Skills & Experience
-Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
-5+ years of progressive TX experience, including multi-state retail or field TX management.
-Strong understanding of U.S. labor and employment laws, including CA and NY regulations.
-Demonstrated experience managing employee relations and coaching field leadership.
-Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
-Willingness to travel up to 25% to retail locations across the East and West Coasts.
