Your Job:
As the HQ Facilities Technician at Brooks, you will report to the Senior Manager, HQ Facilities and serve as the first point of contact for employee facilities requests across the Brooks HQ portfolio. With a priority focus on customer service, a technical aptitude, and an ability to troubleshoot and problem solve, you ensure facilities requests are addressed in a thorough, timely manner in accordance with established safety protocols. Along with the Senior Manager, HQ Facilities, you will work closely with the Health and Safety Program Manager, Front Desk, and various vendors to create and maintain a safe and functional headquarters portfolio.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, track, and ensure the appropriate execution and timely completion of facilities requests across our work order system and Facilities inbox.
  • Check-in regularly with the Facilities team, following up with all assigned items and ensuring tasks and projects are tracked in the work order system.
  • Perform proactive inspections of property through building rounds and documentation to identify and correct issues.
  • Perform preventative scheduled maintenance on assets including refrigerators, drains, water, and HVAC filters, coordinating with vendors on routine maintenance as appropriate and necessary.
  • Liaise with building management, engineers, cafeteria service, and cleaning vendors submitting service tickets as needed and providing employee feedback.
  • Partner with functional teams for desk moves, reallocation of shared spaces, and special projects.
  • Assist in processing bills in a timely manner, tracking expenses, and ensuring Facilities is operating within budget.
  • Work with building management and Front Desk to issue and track building access cards according to established procedures and maintain log of cards and access across sites.
  • Present efficiency improvement ideas.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and maintain confidentiality and discretion when dealing with sensitive issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including tools, equipment, and job sites and adhere to proper safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Install various features including whiteboards, shelving, and televisions as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in general building maintenance and repair or equivalent education and experience
  • Computer proficiency: MS Office Suite, required
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to deal with adverse situations positively
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of the organization
  • Experience working with outside vendors and managing work to ensure best result
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Experience with general building maintenance tasks including door hardware repair, basic HVAC troubleshooting, mounting and hanging heavy objects safely, minor plumbing work, and minor electrical troubleshooting
  • Experience using hand and power tools safely
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed for building repairs or maintenance
  • Ability to travel between locations as necessary
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and coordinate moving heavy items safely

  • Additional Information

    Compensation: The pay range for this position, based out of the Brooks Seattle HQ, is $51,896 - 72, 655 per year. Base pay offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
