What's Exciting About The Role

The Regional Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing payroll and HR Operations for employees within their assigned region. This role leads and develops both Payroll Analysts and HR Operations Coordinators, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, compliant HR transactions, and high-quality employee experience.

In this role you will also partner closely with HR, Finance, HRIS, Legal, and external vendors, while driving performance through clearly defined KPIs and service level agreements (SLAs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own end-to-end payroll processing for all countries within the assigned region, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Provide direct people leadership to Payroll Analysts and HR Operations Coordinators, including coaching, performance management, and development.
  • Establish, track, and manage KPIs and SLAs for payroll and HR Operations, including payroll accuracy, timeliness, audit results, ServiceNow response and closure times, and employee satisfaction.
  • Partner with external payroll vendors to ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations, including withholding, reporting, and remittance.
  • Support team members in resolving escalated payroll and HR inquiries from employees and managers.
  • Ensure payroll and HR Operations policies, procedures, and documentation are current, clearly defined, and published on the company intranet.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including HR Business Partners, Benefits, Finance, HRIS, Legal, IT, and Compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and all applicable employment, payroll, and data privacy regulations within the region.
  • Oversee and review regular payroll and HR audits, addressing findings and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Recruit, onboard, train, and develop Payroll Analysts and HR Operations Coordinators within the region.
  • Complete performance evaluations and goal setting for direct reports, supporting career development and succession planning.
  • Promote a culture of empowerment, accountability, continuous improvement, and customer-focused service.
  • Manage relationships with payroll and HR vendors, ensuring performance meets contractual SLAs.
  • Oversee regional payroll and HR Operations budgets, including purchase order creation and management in the company’s financial system.
  • Ensure payroll and HR Operations ServiceNow tickets are responded to accurately and within established SLAs.
  • Identify and lead initiatives to improve processes, controls, automation, and data quality across payroll and HR Operations.
  • Partner on system implementations and enhancements, including HRIS, Time & Absence, payroll vendor platforms, and integrations.
  • Uphold the company’s code of ethics and standards of business conduct.

Skills and Experience We Desire

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive payroll or HR Operations experience, with at least 3 years in a people management role.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll laws, HR operations processes, and compliance requirements across multiple countries.
  • Demonstrated experience managing teams across diverse cultures and time zones.
  • Proven ability to define, measure, and improve KPIs and SLAs.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, global environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and attention to detail.
