Acquia is looking for a passionate Manager, Business Development to develop and lead a team of Business Development Representatives.Your main focus will be ensuring your team is driving the growth of Acquia products from new and existing accounts and coaching business development representatives to maximize lead qualification and conversation rates. These two goals are crucial in scaling the sales organization and delivering quality pipeline to our Sales teams. The Manager, Business Development will work closely with the sales and marketing organizations to collaborate, develop plans, and share feedback on marketing campaign effectiveness. Strong business acumen will be crucial, as this position will require business forecasting and communication with stakeholders.
The Manager, Business Development will have a significant impact on our company’s success by increasing revenue growth. You will report directly to our Director, Global Business Development.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily coaching and professional development to a team of Business Development Representatives, including weekly 1:1 meetings, weekly shadow sessions, call coaching, and co-selling
- Responsible for successfully leading a team to achieve goals on meeting setting, opportunities created, and revenue targets
- Participates in strategic and tactical planning for the organization
- Responsible for performance management and career development of the team
- Implements and maintains sales and lead qualification best practices
- Contributes to the development and implementation of rules of engagement as well as policies, procedures and programs
- Ability to clearly understand and articulate the Acquia value proposition
- Responsible for hiring, training and ramp-up of new team members
- Drives exhaustive lead penetration, high activity standards and pipeline management
- Arranges on-going sales, product and competitive trainings
- Analyze performance data and provide insights and recommendations for improvements
- Track and communicate weekly goals and forecasts to execute against monthly and quarterly quota targets
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 1-3+ years of relevant, transferable and previous management experience (e.g., inside sales, outbound market research) working closely with a sales team
- Strong communication skills to deliver feedback to team members, lead team meetings, and collaborate in cross-functional meetings
- Passion for Sales; high energy, results oriented, driven professional
- Demonstrated ability to coach and develop team members. This includes performance management of reps, outbound calls and shadowing, and pipeline management
- Ability to prioritize effectively and work independently
- Ability to work in teams to develop strategies and action plans and share results
- Knowledge of technical marketplace and IT organizational structures
- Comfortable interacting with potential clients on the phone and over email
- Background of hiring, training, and enabling new reps for success
- Applicants will have knowledge of sales and sales process and expertise working with a CRM
- Prior enterprise software experience is a plus
