Description

Self-sufficient engineer who can design, automate, and maintain all infrastructure, deployment, and monitoring systems that keep a small healthcare engineering team productive and secure.

Salary & Location

$113,000 – $141,000, Full-time, Remote, 100% healthcare

About the Role

We’re seeking a DevOps / Platform Engineer to architect and run the full technical backbone of our healthcare application — from build pipelines to deployment automation. You’ll establish CI/CD systems, manage cloud infrastructure, and create tools that make our development process faster, safer, and more reliable. This is a hands-on role with wide responsibility and freedom: you’ll design, build, and own the operational systems that empower our engineering team to deliver software across iOS, Android, and web platforms.

You’ll collaborate closely with developers but operate with high autonomy, setting standards for reliability, observability, and compliance as the team scales. Your focus on Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) will be critical for maintaining high availability.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for web, iOS, and Android releases, including code signing and distribution.
  • Design and manage scalable, secure cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform or Pulumi.
  • Set up monitoring, alerting, and observability systems, leveraging tools like Grafana.
  • Design, optimize, and manage PostgreSQL databases
  • Manage environments, secrets, and configuration securely.
  • Lead DevOps strategy for compliance (HIPAA, GDPR) and reliability.
  • Document infrastructure and operational standards for the team.

What We Value

  • Deep understanding of systems, networking, and automation fundamentals
  • Pragmatic engineering — solutions that work and are easy to maintain
  • Initiative and ownership over complex domains, with a mindset for Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
  • Comfort working independently with minimal supervision
  • Curiosity about reliability, observability, and developer productivity
  • Empathy for the end users and the engineers your tools support
  • Familiarity with traditional, complex enterprise protocols like SOAP.

Bonus Experience

  • Developer experience: writing code for production (Typescript, Dart/Flutter) or platform-specific code for iOS or Android.
  • Working with compliance frameworks such as HIPAA, GDPR, ISO 27001.
  • Experience with clinical trials (FDA 21 CFR rule 11).
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., managing existing Terraform or Pulumi codebases).
  • Interest in AI-assisted automation tools or intelligent monitoring.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as:
    • GCP Cloud DevOps Engineer
    • GCP Professional Cloud Network Engineer
    • GCP Professional Security Engineer (e.g., for IAM knowledge)
    • GCP Cloud Database Engineer
    • Certifications from observability vendors (e.g., Elastic, Grafana).
    • Industry-standard security certifications (CISSP, CISM, or CISA).

Benefits

  • Healthcare
  • Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays)
  • Family Leave (Maternity, Paternity)
  • Short Term & Long Term Disability
  • Work From Home
  • Laptop
