CLMI Group, LLC is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Electrical IT Inspector to join our client's Quality Assurance & Construction Inspection Division across multiple projects within the client's Capital Improvement Program. Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of electrical systems and IT infrastructure to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
  • Review technical documentation, such as blueprints and specifications, to verify accuracy and compliance.
  • Identify and document any discrepancies or deficiencies in electrical installations and IT systems during inspections.
  • Provide recommendations for corrective actions to address identified issues or non-compliance findings.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to discuss inspection results and follow-up actions.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of inspections, findings, and corrective actions taken, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Stay updated on industry standards, codes, and regulations related to electrical systems and IT to ensure best practices are followed.

Perform inspections of electrical installations including, but not limited to:

  • Underground utilities and duct banks
  • High-voltage switchgear and electrical panels Conduit racks, conductors, and grounding systems
  • Interior and exterior lighting systems
  • Fire life safety systems including smoke/heat detectors and FM-200 suppression systems Electrical shutdowns, lockout/tagout procedures, and breaker coordination

Inspect IT infrastructure installations such as:

  • Low-voltage systems (voice/data, security, access control)
  • Door card readers, security cameras, and public address (P.A.) systems
  • Communication cabling and equipment rooms

Requirements

  • High school diploma (or equivalent)
  • 3 years or more of experience with airfield lighting is required.
  • Electrical/IT inspection staff shall have 3 years or more experience performing electrical/IT inspections for Building Construction.
  • Current ICC Certification as a Commercial Electrical Inspector
  • Proof of NFPA 70E standards training within the last 3 years
  • Proof of Cal-OSHA 30 hr. training within the last 4 years
  • Training & knowledge of NFPA -70, 70E, & 72.
  • Fall protection and harness training.
  • *Successfully hired candidates must have client badge prior to official start.
  • *Must be able to work any assigned shift - day, swing, or night - as required to meet the contractor’s construction schedule.

Hardware/Soft ware Knowledge

  • Knowledge of Project Management Information Software used for inspection/document control (i.e., Microsoft Office, Outlook, Xcel, Word, PM Web, Adobe Pro, Bluebeam, etc.).
  • Computer proficiency to review and utilize electronic equipment for contract documents efficiently, including change orders, submittals, RFIs, and other inspection documents, with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience at the journey-level as an electrician, with a focus on the installation and repair of electrical systems in public works, institutional, commercial, or industrial settings.
  • Experience overseeing and ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations on significant construction projects.
  • Involvement in complex projects that require coordination with multiple stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, and city officials.
  • Expertise in identifying and addressing deficiencies, ensuring that all aspects of construction meet the required standards.
  • Must be open to learning the prescriptive items required by the agency.
  • A strong understanding of diverse code requirements.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
