The Equipment Utilization and Control Administrator supports liner operations by administering the container and related equipment assets throughout the Pasha network nationwide.
Primary Objectives
- Administer the lifecycle of equipment assets, including acquisition, utilization, repositioning, and disposal.
- Ensure cost-effective, timely, and accurate equipment availability across the network.
- Maintain systems and processes that support equipment tracking, reporting, and continuous improvement.
- Administer equipment on-hiring, off-hiring, and container sale programs.
- Provide guidance to operations teams regarding reuse, return, and off-hire of in-land equipment destined for Hawaii.
- Administer, track, and support equipment registration in Hawaii.
- Coordinate with vessel operations empty equipment loading and discharge location priorities.
- Work with inland container yards regarding storage and repair requirements for containers.
- Collaborate with maintenance and repair teams to identify repair priorities, develop damage trends, minimize repair costs, and provide a safe and efficient supply of equipment to customers.
- Enter, track, and analyze damage and repair cost data and trends.
- Prepare and publish weekly container repositioning plans and cost reports.
- Prepare and provide reports to business unit leaders on equipment utilization, aging equipment, expediting, and other measures.
- Provide input and oversight to the empty repositioning budget and reporting.
- Collaborate with internal business units on the establishment, monitoring, and reporting of key performance indicator (KPI) measures regarding equipment.
- Process inland invoices and validate that payments are accurate with no over or double payments.
- Engage with pricing team to ensure detention and demurrage billing accuracy with 3rd party vendor.
- Develop and maintain expertise with M&R tracking systems and applications and act as a resource across all locations.
- Implement and maintain business processes that support proper equipment tracking and reporting.
- Recommend and implement continuous improvement initiatives for equipment related guidelines, processes, and policies.
- Collaborate with the Transportation team on the creation of policies and selection of systems for equipment delinquency.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education
- Associate degree in Business, Transportation/Logistics, or equivalent combination of coursework and experience in directly-related field required
- Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) required
- 3+ years’ related experience in equipment, leasing, and marine terminal operations (Gate, CY, On-Dock Rail, Vessel) required
- Experience and knowledge of Port of Los Angeles and Port of Long Beach marine terminals, offdock rail ramps and local container yards preferred
- Experience with collectively-bargained employees preferred
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in transportation, logistics and marine terminal operations.
- Knowledge and application of best practices relating to equipment, leasing, and marine terminal operations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey information effectively to a variety of audiences.
- Ability to identify complex problems and use logic and reasoning to review related information to develop and evaluate options, conclusions, and implement solutions.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service.
- Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across teams.
- Ability to organize work, set priorities, determine resource requirements and necessary sequence of activities needed to achieve goals.
- Ability to communicate effectively with union workforce and management teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of tools.

This role requires work that may involve the following environmental conditions:
- Corporate office environment
- Vessel and terminal environment - includes moving, shifting surfaces, and active production areas including moving vehicles, equipment, and machinery.
- Outdoor/open environments which may involve high/low temperatures, humidity and inclement weather conditions.
- Work days and hours may vary to accommodate operations.
