The Post
This role is an exciting opportunity to join the Commissioning and Resources team as a Children’s Commissioning Lead. The post will contribute to the strategic commissioning of high quality services for children and young people with a focus on outcomes, meeting strategic priorities and identify innovative approaches to help shape service that achieve value for money.
The post will be responsible for a portfolio of commissioning services to include Early Help, SEND, Social Care, DfE Holiday Food Activities Programme. As the Children’s Commissioning Lead you will strategically plan, manage and coordinate commissioning projects from inception to implementation to include identifying any gaps in provision, developing strategies to meet the needs of any particular groups, complete business cases and provide effective contract management and quality assurance. You will ensure services are co-produced with service users.
The Person
We are seeking a highly motivated individual who is driven by service improvement and passionate about championing the voices of children and young people in shaping services they receive. The successful candidate will have experience of successfully managing projects or programme delivery to required deadlines.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills are key in this role, as you will be working with a wide range of stakeholders across the Council and external partners and producing high level presentations and reports.
