Team: The ESG Data Research team, part of ESG Data, research listed and private companies to collect Activity-based data, ESG Incidents, ESG Metrics, and Management Indicators that power Sustainalytics’ ESG Risk Rating, Low Carbon Transition Rating, Climate, and Impact ratings and data products.
The Content Team, part of ESG Data Research, will consist of approx. 10 dedicated content experts focused on interpreting and incorporating regulatory developments on research guidance in data research, monitoring research outcomes, representing the ESG Data team in content-led internal and external discussions, identifying opportunities for quality enhancements, and creating training solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Track developments in sustainable environmental and social activities, including current and emerging thematic trends, drivers, key players, best practices, the regulatory landscape, etc.
Represent the data research teams in discussions with the research and methodology team in cases of escalations from them. Communicate the data research perspective and rationale and seek to resolve any issues or conflicts in a timely and professional manner.
Contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of the research guidance documents and liaise with the Research & Methodology representatives to ensure the guidance documents are up to date.
Organize and deliver training and development programs for ESG data research teams, to equip them with necessary skills and knowledge to perform their tasks effectively and efficiently.
Work closely with the ESG data teams including activities, metrics and indicators teams as well as Quality assurance and automation support (QAAS) team to help them understand and apply the research guidance for ESG data collection and analysis.
Provide feedback and suggestions to improve the guidance quality and clarity.
Organize regular guidance clinics for the data research teams, to address queries or doubts regarding the research guidance, concepts, methodologies, or tools. Also, share best practices, tips, and updates.
Assist the data research teams in resolving corner cases or anomalies in ESG data research. Apply consistent and logical criteria and document the decision process and outcome.
Perform content quality checks on the research
Provide service/support to the Client Relations and Product teams in answering client inquiries in calls and e-mails
Support the Issuer Relations team in providing high quality responses towards issuers queries
Provide research insights, supporting the development of whitepapers or other material that can be published by Morningstar Sustainalytics
Qualifications:
6-9 years of relevant experience, preferably in sustainability / ESG research domain.
Degree(s) in business, sustainability, or engineering.
Knowledge of international and regional ESG reporting frameworks and regulations.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.
Strong research skills and ability to synthesize external data and insights;
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
Passion for sustainability and demonstrated interest in sustainable finance.
Client-oriented mindset with an innovative and entrepreneurial approach.
Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
