As AVK continues to scale across the UK and Europe, we’re in need of an Internal Communications Manager to develop and execute on communications plans to engage, inform and align our People across every site, project and team.
This position is ideal for someone passionate about storytelling, culture-building, and translating complex technical and business information into clear compelling messages that inspire and galvanise our people, ensuring they’re informed, engaged, and proud of our achievements, mission, vision and values.
Key Responsibilities:
Internal Communications Strategy (25%)
- Lead the development and delivery of AVK's internal communications strategy, ensuring our people are informed. aligned and excited about where we're headed.
- Design and deliver communication plans that keep colleagues informed about our work and clients; whilst bringing our mission, vision and values to life.
- Partner with executives and senior leaders to connect business priorities with clear communication plans that support understanding, pserformance and engagement.
Content, Channels and Story Telling (35%)
- Manage and evolve our internal communication channels so they work effectively across offices, sites and project locations, with messaging that meets people where they are.
- Introduce new channels and formats that broaden reach and improve how information is shared across regions and teams.
- Create and curate clear, people-centred content that highlights our work, celebrates both our colleagues and clients alike and brings our values and achievements to life.
- Work closely with the Engagement & Community Manager and Marketing to align messages, share insight from sites and teams and ensure our internal communication activity is consistent, connected and strengthens employee advocacy.
Leadership Communication & Coaching (10%)
- Support leaders in shaping and delivering clear, credible and consistent messages.
- Act as a trusted advisor on tone, structure and communication impact.
- Prepare briefing notes, scripts, and campaign materials that help leaders communicate with confidence across all teams and regions.
Change Communications (10%)
- Providing critical support during periods of organisational change
- Translate complex information into simple, accessible messages that support clarity and trust.
Leadership Support Coaching (10%)
- Support leadership in communicating strategic priorities and organisational updates effectively.
- Act as a trusted advisor on tone, clarity and impact of internal communications.
Insight, Measurement & Continuous Improvement (10%)
- Track engagement, feedback and channel performance to understand what lands well and where to iterate.
- Use insight to refine plans and shape ongoing improvements to our communication approach.
Requirements
- Experience in internal communications within a complex or fast-growing business, with exposure to change communications and senior leader support.
- Empathy, diplomacy and sound judgement; able to handle sensitive messages and discussions with clarity and discretion.
- Strong planning and project management skills; confident coordinating multiple communication activities and delivering to tight timelines.
- Curious, creative and improvement-focused; comfortable shaping communication approaches from the ground up.
- Clear, engaging communicator who can simplify complex information and tailor messages for different audiences and environments.
