POSITION SUMMARY

The Electrical Design Engineer will develop electrical design for standard and special units of the Edge Thermal business unit.

He/she will closely follow objectives of quality, environment, and costs working in cooperation with manufacturing engineering, controls engineering, procurement, suppliers, mechanical engineering, and product marketing.

The Electrical Engineer will contribute to the release of new products; work in a cross-functional development group; manage a variety of tasks and activities in a dynamic environment; and solve complex problems where no precedence exists.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design new computer room air conditioning and Air Handlers (CRAC and CRAH) products.
  • Collaborate across Mechanical, Thermal, and Firmware engineering, as well as production and offering teams.
  • Participate in design reviews, meet cost metrics, and brainstorm around customer pain points.
  • Perform a variety of engineering calculations using traditional methods to verify design requirements.
  • Develop solutions to complex problems where little or no precedence exists, using ingenuity and creativity.
  • Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities and design changes.
  • Implement product changes to solve field issues and support the service department.
  • Verify electrical components and systems.
  • Create and revise unit wiring schematics and network connection drawings.
  • Design and review electric panel layouts following relevant codes and standards.
  • Create and revise wire harnesses.
  • Work with the software team to develop and verify CRAC/CRAH system controls.
  • Support lab facilities with prototypes and testing.
  • Assist in creating, reviewing, and entering new product specifications, ECNs, tests, procedures, user manuals, submittal drawings, and sales literature.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related degree from an accredited college or university.
  • 1+ years of experience in new product development as an individual contributor.
  • Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment, independently and as part of a dynamic team.
  • Open to offering and receiving constructive feedback.
  • Proficient in 3D CAD software (CREO 4.0 or later preferred).
  • Ability to follow, create, and organize testing and instructional procedures.
  • Excellent planning, organization, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Fluency in English.
