Keene State College's Athletic Department invites applications for a NCAA Division III Head Coach, Field Hockey. This is a benefited 76.92% position, full-time during the annual work period; early August to early June each year.
In line with Keene State College Athletics mission, the Field Hockey program strive to achieve national excellence. Our student-athletes endeavor to excel academically, while valuating and enhancing leadership, sportsmanship, integrity with a sense of pride and tradition in the college and surrounding community.
The Head Coach will have direct responsibility for all facets of the varsity field hockey program, including conditioning, practice sessions, games, recruiting, retention, budget management, equipment requisition, public relations and other administrative duties. All staff positions on campus support students and will be involved in student-focused activities.
This position falls within the collective bargaining unit for the Keene State College Staff Association (KSCSA), an affiliate of the National Education Association of New Hampshire (NEA-NH).
Duties/Responsibilities
Coaching (80%)
Organize, develop, and administer all aspects of an NCAA Division III sports team.
Recruitment and retention of student/athletes-the ability to effectively evaluate athletic talent through on-site home visits and video.
Effectively evaluate academic talent to help ensure academic collegiate success.
Monitor academic progress of matriculated student athletes and assist with accessing necessary support resources of all student athletes.
Coordinate and conduct all practice and game preparation including training and conditioning program for student athletes, scout opponents, and travel extensively with team.
Budget preparation, scheduling, travel arrangements, requisitioning equipment, fund raising, community service/promoting the program on and off campus and complying with all NCAA rules and regulations.
Hiring and supervising assistant coaches and other adjunct staff members, as necessary.
Administrative (20%)
Provide support with departmental administrative duties; duties within department based upon employee skill set and may change depending on the department’s needs.
Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years’ experience in college coaching/athletics.
Other Requirements:
Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
Collegiate head coaching experience
Proven experience leading and developing championship teams
Experience with club field hockey, camps and clinics
First Aid, CPR, AED certification

Compensation Pay Range:
