Instructors will arrive 30 minutes prior to the party to assist with hanging directional signs, and
setting out gym equipment. Instructors will help greet family, and answer any questions
regarding set-up, etc.
Instructors will lead guests down to the gym and/or pool. If the party is in the gym, instructors
will interact directly with participants by leading games, acting as an official, and encouraging
participation. If in the pool, the instructor may swim, but may also choose to observe activities
from the deck. A lifeguard will be on-duty. Instructors will also supervise party room activity
(opening of gifts, eating, etc.), but are more hands-off during that portion of the party, as a
parent will step in and lead. Instructors will assist the family in picking up at the conclusion of the
scheduled party. Instructors will help with returning equipment to storage, and putting away all
directional/party signs.
Occasional Saturdays between 9 am – 2:30 pm. These hours are available only when a family
requests a party. There are roughly 15 – 25 party opportunities per year. Parties last between
1.5 - 3 hours. On any given Saturday, there may be one to three parties scheduled. Instructors
are not required to work every party, but will be added to the call list and contacted about
picking up hours, if desired, when each party is scheduled.

Will oversee child behavior, and implement the disciplinary action plan as needed.
Will communicate as needed with parents/guardians.
Will show enthusiasm and create fun, positive experiences through words, actions, and non-
verbal’s.
Will keep track of time worked and record it on timesheets.
Will openly communicate with the recreation coordinator, in a timely manner, regarding program
issues, etc.

Evidence of relationship building with youth.
Evidence of initiative taking and self-directing
