SENIOR POWER BI DEVELOPER
PPG Industries, Inc., headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA, seeks a Senior Power BI Developer responsible for designing and building scalable data models, cleaning and digitally transforming data, and enabling sophisticated analytic capabilities in Power BI. This is a hybrid office-based/work-from-home position within the United States. The employee can work remotely from within the United States but must be able to work in the Pittsburgh office at least three (3) days per week. Specific duties include: (i) collaborating with data scientists, project leads, and stakeholders to understand their data visualization requirements and translate them into actionable dashboards; (ii) writing SQL queries that include aggregation; (iii) translating reporting needs into technical specifications, calculations, custom groups, parameters, filtering criteria, and aggregations, and strive to optimize model performances; and (iv) building data models, custom measures, and dimensions using DAX operating on cached datasets and analysis services.
Must have a bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in a computer-related or engineering-related field plus five (5) years of post-baccalaureate and progressively responsible experience in a related position.
Experience must include: (i) five (5) years with Microsoft Data Stack (including SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS); (ii) four (4) years with Microsoft Power BI; (iii) four (4) years with SQL, MDX, or DAX data query languages; (iv) three (3) years with data warehousing and data modeling; (v) two (2) years designing and executing data mining and text mining processes to identify patterns and trends; and (vi) two (2) years developing predictive models using statistical techniques and data mining algorithms in the manufacturing industry.
Experience can be concurrent.
