ABOUT THE POSITION
The Manufacturing Engineer Intern is responsible to assist the engineering team to improve manufacturing operations within Marketlab, seeking to make manufacturing efficient and productive. This position will provide team support to the engineering team in order to produce the highest quality of products for Marketlab
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Assist with evaluating manufacturing operations, documenting processes, and identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Support implementation of manufacturing process improvements, workflow optimization, and ergonomic enhancements.
- Conduct time studies, data collection, statistical analysis, and performance assessments to support engineering decision-making.
- Assist in transitioning products from engineering to production, including documentation, standard work, and BOM/routing updates.
- Help prepare specifications, safety protocols, and instructions for equipment installation or modification.
- Participate in root-cause analysis and corrective action efforts under guidance from engineering leadership.
- Support prototype builds, product testing, and engineering validation activities.
Use CAD software to assist with design modifications, fixtures, and light product development tasks. - Draft or update process procedures, test protocols, and production documentation with clarity and accuracy.
- Spend time on the manufacturing floor observing processes, gathering feedback, and supporting operational needs.
- Complete miscellaneous engineering projects as assigned by the Director of Engineering.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Currently enrolled in an Engineering degree path or similar.
- Must be flexible and adapt to changing environments and priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physically able to lift 50 lbs. repetitively throughout the day.
