Job Description

Lockheed Martin's MFC BA is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Intern to support the Dallas, TX site. The position is for a Mechanical Design Intern to support Launchers programs. The product scope of this activity includes support of missile and/or canister hardware. The engineer will be involved in daily production issues and will help troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to the design. Tasks also include Creo modeling of design for subsystems and components, interface development, and coordination with Stress, Materials, Production Operations, and other departments. The engineer will also be involved in the development and release of engineering drawings and documents. Prior knowledge of Microsoft Office and CREO/Windchill software is a plus.

Basic Qualifications

*Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering or similar majors with a strong academic record.

*Proficiency in 3D CAD such as: CATIA/3DX, Creo, Solidworks, Siemens NX, or other design and simulation tools.

*Experience with hands-on engineering projects, such as designing and building mechanical systems or devices.

*Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance.

Desired skills

*Experienced with GD&T, sketching, technical drawing standards, or similar hands-on hardware support.

* Hands‑on experience with machining, rapid prototyping, or lab equipment (CNC, 3‑D printers, test rigs)

*Basic FEA/CFD exposure (ANSYS, Abaqus, COMSOL).

* Participation in engineering clubs, competitions (e.g. SAE, ASME competitions).

* Basic understanding of industry standards (ISO, ASME, ASTM).

* Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

* Active clearance.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $31,616 - $77,788. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays.
