Sales Manager – BID (Bioscience Division) – Life Technologies

Location: Belo Horizonte or Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Territory: the regions encompassing Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro

How will you make an impact:

As a sales manager for the Business Instrument Division (BID) within Life Technologies, you will lead a regional team responsible for driving commercial growth and customer success across Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro. You will handle sales performance, develop market strategies, and nurture a culture of perfection and teamwork aligned with Thermo Fisher Scientific’s mission — to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.

What will you do?

  • Achieve sales targets and business objectives as set by the Division and the Company.
  • Lead the performance and development of the sales group.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to drive business growth.
  • Develop and complete regional business strategies aligned with national goals for the Life Technologies division.
  • Ensure achievement of quarterly and annual revenue, growth, and profitability targets.
  • Maintain accurate forecasts and handle sales pipelines using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities with strategic customers (Key Accounts) and emerging markets.
  • Strengthen relationships with research institutions, diagnostic labs, universities, and hospitals in the territory.
  • Provide clear direction and support to the sales team, encouraging a high-performance.
  • Partner with Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Customer Service to deliver outstanding customer experience.
  • Provide mentorship and career development to team members, promoting an environment of outstanding performance.
  • Develop accurate sales forecasts, budgets, and financial planning requirements.
  • Represent Thermo Fisher Scientific and Life Technologies at industry events, congresses, and customer meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and safety regulations.

How will you get here:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Pharmacy, or related field.
  • MBA or postgraduate degree will be a plus.

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of commercial experience in the Life Sciences or laboratory instrumentation industry.
  • Shown experience leading sales teams and handling Key Accounts.
  • Solid understanding of Life Technologies product portfolio and laboratory workflow solutions.
  • Track record of achieving and exceeding business goals in sophisticated environments.

  • Excellent leadership and team development skills.
  • Strategic approach with strong analytical skills and keen business insight.
  • Sophisticated communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  • English  Intermediate (required)
  • Proficiency in Salesforce or other CRM tools.
