Job Summary
Under the direction of the Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer, the Vice President Marketing and Communications for UCSF Health is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive marketing strategy for UCSF Health which includes the adult, pediatric, ambulatory, and affiliate operations. Working closely with the UCSF Health CEO, Business Unit Presidents, Department Chairs, and Strategy / Business Development leadership, the Vice President Marketing and Communications is responsible for leading all marketing, advertising and branding efforts, managing media, digital channels, and health system communications efforts as well as managing the production of UCSF Health strategic publications including brochures, annual reports, newsletters and promotional materials.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. F
The salary range for this position is $204,600 - $497,600 (Annual Rate).

- Advanced knowledge of the campus /and UCSF health system, including its achievements, mission, goals, vision, infrastructure, products and services.
- Advanced knowledge of current and emerging marketing trends and practices, including new and emerging strategies and technologies.
- Advanced ability to conceive, implement and evaluate strategic programs to achieve established goals.
- Highly developed managerial and leadership skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication and political acumen to communicate and collaborate with a variety of professionals and public officials.
- Highly advanced market research, analytical, and problem solving skills.
- Exceptional ability to motivate, manage and mentor diverse groups toward the accomplishment of established goals.
- Advanced knowledge of applicable University policies and state and federal laws regarding copyright and other licensing issue.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in marketing and/or communications – preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Must have demonstrated ability to develop and implement comprehensive marketing and communications plans.
- Highly effective interpersonal skills and excellent analytical and quantitative skills are required.
- Possess strong organizational skills, an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and have superb written and oral communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
