SPCA Westchester is a dedicated nonprofit organization committed to providing care, saving the lives of and finding loving homes for animals in need. It is our mission to save homeless, abused and abandoned animals. We are committed to educating the community and inspiring respect and compassion towards animals and enforcing humane laws.

 

We are currently seeking a part-time Shelter Front Desk Associate/Receptionist to join our talented team and support our mission. 


Shifts available:

Thursdays & Fridays 11:30 am - 6:30 pm

Sundays 8:30 am - 4:30 pm

Responsibilities

 

  • Manage incoming calls, screening, and forwarding as needed.
  • Process intakes, adoptions, reclaims, and additional paperwork.
  • Respond to emails and directs them appropriately. 
  • Welcome and assists guests as they arrive at the shelter.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and deliveries.
  • Provide administrative support, including filing and data entry.
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
  • Prepare adoption care packages for new pet owners.

 

Requirements

 

  • Reliable, approachable, and friendly demeanor.
  • At least one year of experience helping customers.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a passion for animal welfare.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office.
  • Previous front desk experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
