JOB SUMMARY:  The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for directly supervising and participating in the completion of electrical construction projects with specific focus on Telecom and Electric Vehicle Charging Stations. Supervise apprentice electricians, field technicians and crews.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following but are not limited to the job specifications contained herein.  Additional duties or job functions that can be performed safely may be required as deemed necessary by supervisory personnel.

  • Supervision - Supervise field technicians in the completion of fieldwork, provide instruction and oversight in overcoming obstacles, and ensure that safety policies are followed.

 

  • Licensing and Inspections: Responsible for supervising installations and inspections of electrical construction in compliance with local, state, and federal laws.

 

  • Fieldwork:  Ensure field work in completed as Foreman of crew. Perform construction electrical work in accordance with the client’s work order, including installation of antennae, telecommunications equipment, and constructing modifications particular to small cell sites.

 

  • Testing: Determine the steps necessary to assess an electrical situation using testing devices, blueprints and maps. Test electrical systems using tools that include voltmeters and ohmmeters to determine where issues may be occurring, the safety of the system and to ensure compatibility.

 

  • Safety: Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all company guidelines and OSHA safety requirements and also through reporting violations of policies, procedures and guidelines to management, safety administrator, or HR. Must use required PPE as necessary and required.

 

  • Equipment Management: Inspect equipment prior to and following completion of work activities, deliver equipment to worksites, retrieve equipment from worksites, and maintain inventory records of equipment usage and status.

 

  • Material Management: Inspect and deliver materials to site prior to the start of work. Assist in creating BOMs (Bill of Materials) for particular projects.

 

  • Documentation : Record information associated with work activities and report information after completing field work on each site. Record and document all closeout information. Must follow company specific MOPs and procedures when available. Provide input for new documentation of procedures as needed.

 

  • Perform related responsibilities as required or assigned.

Special Job Dimensions:

  • Work requires travel of up to 25% and involves exposure to weather elements.
  • Occasional evening work based on customer projects.

Qualifications and Physical Requirements


  • NFPA Hot Work Safety Certificate
  • OSHA 10 certification / OSHA 30
  • First Aid/CPR/AED
  • Commercial drivers physical exam
  • Competent Climber / Rescuer
  • MEWP / Aerial Lift
  • RF Awareness
  • Bloodborne Pathogens
  • Hazcom / Battery Awareness

Position requires the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift body weight, PPE, equipment, tools and/or boxes.

 

You must be able to safely perform the following types of activities daily as a part of your regular duty position.

 

  • Lift/Carry 0-100 lbs. depending upon role, height of lift 0-8’ depending upon role, distance of carry varies based upon position.
  • Pushing up to 75 lbs. occasionally up to 33% of the workday.
  • Pulling up to 75 lbs. frequently up to 60% of the workday. 
  • Climbing and balancing - constantly up to 90% of the workday.
  • Bending, squatting, reaching, fingering, feeling and repetition frequently up to 66% of the workday.
  • Twisting, crawling, kneeling – occasionally up to 33% of the workday.
  • Hand and foot motion – frequently up to 100% of the workday
  • Temperature tolerance; extreme heat and cold - occasionally
  • Vibration of power tools - occasionally
