Job Description Summary
Organization's Summary Statement:Under general supervision, maintains and repairs classroom surfaces, fixtures, equipment and seating throughout the campus, and configures classroom spaces and seating according to required needs. Performs carpentry work at the journey level. Performs semi-skilled general classroom maintenance and/or preventive maintenance assignments.
Physical Demands:
To work in, on, around, over and under fixed equipment and machinery; to work from ladders and scaffolding; to manipulate heavy equipment, tools, and supplies and/or exert force up to 70 lbs.; to concurrently manipulate multiple controls on equipment and machinery; to work in hazardous or irritating environments, confined spaces, and adverse weather or temperature conditions; to wear and work in personal protective equipment. Normal work hours consist of four 10-hour days, Monday – Thursday, 4:00 PM-2:30 AM.
Personal hand tools are not required for this position. If brought to the job, the University is not responsible for the repair or replacement of lost, stolen or damaged personal property.
Preferences:
-High School diploma or GED strongly preferred.
Licenses/ Certifications:
Must possess and maintain a valid Maryland Class C Driver’s license or equivalent with fewer than 6 points.
Minimum Qualifications
Four years progressively responsible experience in the carpentry trade. Valid Maryland Non-commercial Class C or equivalent driver's license may be required.Additional Job Details
