You will help manage the properties that serve our community and support individuals who are applying for adaptive equipment loans that can change their daily lives. General Description of Duties: The Property & Loan Manager is responsible for administering Adelante’s rental properties and adaptive equipment loan guarantee program. Duties include but are not limited to;
Oversee daily operations of properties, ensuring safety, accessibility, and regulatory compliance.
Manage vendor contracts, maintenance schedules, repairs, landscaping, and capital improvements.
Develop and monitor property budgets, rent collection, tenant relations, and occupancy agreements.
Conduct facility inspections and maintain records for leases, filings, insurance, and financial data.
Manage loan application intake, collect documentation, and verify income, employment, assets, credit, and debts.
Analyze creditworthiness, prepare preliminary credit memos, and make recommendations to the loan committee.
Track loan files for compliance and maintain communication with management, NMTAP, applicants, and the bank.
Collaborate with finance to align property budgets and loan portfolios with organizational goals.
Assist with reports for donors, grantors, and the board on property and loan performance.
Contribute to policy development and ensure compliance with nonprofit standards, fair lending laws, and community development regulations.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Real Estate, Nonprofit Management, or related field. Equivalent experience considered.
- 3–5 years’ experience in property management, loan processing, underwriting, or a related financial services role.
- Knowledge of nonprofit operations, fair housing guidelines, and basic banking credit principles.
- Strong financial analysis, budgeting, and organizational skills.
- Have the ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms.
Other Requirements: Must pass background/fingerprint investigation and pre-employment drug screening. Must have own reliable transportation, valid NM driver’s license, insurable driving record and proof of current liability insurance. Must have effective verbal communication and writing skills. Position is within normal limits of an administrative office position. An employee in this position frequently sits at a desk or workstation - must be able to sit.
