Position Overview:

MP Materials is seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Security to lead and oversee all aspects of corporate security. The Director of Security will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive security strategies that protect our people, assets, and operations across all locations. This executive will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, mitigating risks, and fostering a culture of security awareness throughout the organization.

The Director of Security will be responsible for the physical security design support for construction projects to comply with US Government National Security facilities. This position requires proficiency in physical security system applications for video surveillance, security alarms, access control systems, interactions with fire alarm and building automation systems, and in construction project elements including reading blueprints and design documents, preparation of design documents, and understanding the facility construction process including management and subcontractor roles. The position will also assist in the development and enforcement of MP Materials standards for these systems. This will be an on-site position located in either Fort Worth, TX or Las Vegas, NV.

Position Responsibilities:

• In partnership with the Senior Vice President, Environmental Health & Safety develop and execute a company-wide security strategy aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

• Lead the Security Department, overseeing physical security, risk management, and crisis response.

• Collaborate with leadership to integrate security into corporate planning and decision-making.

• Ensure the safety and security of all company facilities, employees, and visitors.

• Manage access control systems, surveillance, and emergency response procedures.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, including those specific to DoW contracts and public company obligations.

• Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and implement corrective actions.

• Oversee relationships with third-party security vendors and service providers.

• Ensure all security-related contracts meet company standards and regulatory requirements.

• Lead internal investigations related to security breaches, or other incidents.

• Support and assist in the development of internal security support systems and procedures. These include but are not limited to visitor procedures, employee badging systems and procedures.

• Assist management in the identification and testing of additional security system devices such as drones, robotics, biometrics, and other emerging technology systems.

• Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.

• Be an active leader in building a respectful, collaborative, mission-driven, unwavering culture.

• Other duties, as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, or related field. Equivalent years of experience may be considered.

• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in security, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.

• Proven experience managing security for high profile or diplomatic positions.

• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001), physical security systems, and risk management practices.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and crisis management skills.

• Certifications such as CPP (Certified Protection Professional) highly desirable. Skilled in creating and delivering clear, concise executive-level briefings, presentations, and communications for internal and external audiences.

• Analytical, strategic, and structured thinker with entrepreneurial drive.

• Proactive, resourceful, self-motivated, and possessing exemplary interpersonal skills to “meet people where they are” across all levels of diverse organizations.

• Ability to drive action and results within a matrixed organization across multiple sites.

Desired Qualities:

• Experience working with government or Fortune 500 clients.

• Ability to navigate complex organizational structures and influence cross-functional teams.

• High ethical standards and a commitment to confidentiality and integrity.
