The Billing/Collection Specialist ensure accurate billing information is gathered and updated on software systems for each Bridgeway client and ensure accuracy with collections to provide supportive functions to overall operations under the direction of the Billing Manager.
To learn more about this position, please read below a list of summarized duties:
- Maintain the best practice routine per department guidelines. Guidelines include daily billing and cash reports, assigned payer accounts, issues and follow-up with payers, consumer, or applicable departments completed in a timely manner per process and required documentation noted in system.
- Attend required meetings and participate effectively in groups as requested. Assist in continuously improving the aging of receivables while minimizing controllable loss categories.
- Research overpayment and/or credit balance of accounts. Carry out the procedures of the past due collection system.
- Monitor accounts for timely follow-up and prompt resolution for denials or other basic account resolution. Process of resolving denied, over and/underpaid claims from third party payers in order to receive payment.
- The re-billing of Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance companies on behalf of clients; follow up on these billings and filing of billings.
- Process denials appeal for adequate reimbursement work with clinical staff and records staff when necessary for supportive documentation.
Minimum requirements include a High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of one-year related experience and/or training. Employment with Bridgeway is conditional upon completion of all background checks.
