Description
Deliver best-in-class fabrication services to the oil & gas, marine, and energy markets. As the Paint &
Blast Supervisor, you’ll lead a skilled team responsible for sandblasting and painting Point Eight Power products
to meet exact quality and schedule standards. This role is critical to ensuring operational excellence, safety, and
brand integrity in every project.
Schedule: Monday to Friday 6AM to 2:30PM | Must be open to working overtime based on business needs
Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership
- Partner with the Fabrication Manager to allocate labor, materials, and equipment efficiently, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.
- Maintain compliance with all quality, safety, and company procedures.
- Supervise all blasting and painting operations, ensuring work meets client specifications and vendor requirements.
- Oversee the maintenance, safe handling, and storage of all blasting and painting equipment and materials.
- Continuously improve processes, policies, and work practices to drive performance and safety.
Project Coordination
- Serve as the main contact for blasting and painting aspects of each project.
- Coordinate activities with other foremen and departments to optimize workflow.
- Communicate project status, issues, and updates clearly with project coordinators and leadership.
Qualifications
Education & Certifications
- High School Diploma or GED, Required.
- Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methods preferred.
Experience
- 5+ years in manufacturing (preferably fabrication or related industrial environments).
- 3+ years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Experience in industrial, marine, or shipbuilding sectors preferred.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Working knowledge of blasting and painting techniques, equipment operation, and maintenance.
- Understanding of fabrication, production processes, and quality control.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with systems like AS/400.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Intermediate math skills (e.g., proportions, area, and material calculations).
Supervisory Requirements
- Directly supervise a minimum of 3 employees, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Foster a high-performing, safety-focused, and collaborative team culture.
- Act as a change leader, developing staff to meet company goals and individual growth objectives.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
Physical Requirement: Demanding. Must have ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs. Employee must be able to sit, climb or balance, hear, use hands, taste/smell, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, stand, walk, talk, and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to wear protective face masks and suits for several hours.
Working Conditions: Conditions in manufacturing worksite: can be high heat, high humidity, exposure to electrical shock and mechanical parts, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals with fumes and/or airborne particles.
