Unit Description:Delaware North operates concessions, premium dining, retail, and restaurants at Busch Stadium, home of the St. Louis Cardinals, and has been the hospitality partner since 1953. Our culinary team creates menu items for all tastes – from ballpark staples and St. Louis classics to fine dining and signature dishes.
Responsibilities:Learning Objectives: What will the intern be able to do as a result of the internship? What competencies – knowledge, skills, and abilities – can they expect to develop through performing the tasks and projects for the internship?
- Leadership and supervisory skills
- Event planning and coordination
- Scheduling and staff management
- Operational skills--event execution, front-of-house and back-of-house experience
Interns will gain knowledge of operational, accounting/time-keeping, and human resources aspects of the business.
- Work schedule: All Cardinal game days plus hours in the off-weeks. Days, evenings, weekends.
- Administrative support: assist with daily office paperwork, entering inventories, answering phones during game days, assist with staff communication, beverage inventory and transfers, staff scheduling, data-entry, associate timecard/payroll support.
- Staff supervision: assist the management and supervisory team with staff assignments, staff check-in, and staff breaks. Assist team members with daily tasks, restocking, inventory, etc. Use problem-solving skills to resolve issues and learn to supervise team members.
- Assist Department Managers throughout events: support where needed (assisting guests, supporting team members, setting up events, restocking).
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Enrolment at an accredited college or university pursuing a Business Administration, Hospitality, or degree is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products, including Word and Excel.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly motivated, ability to take initiative.
- Flexible schedule.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Constant lifting, twisting, reaching, bending, and repetitive motions
