Job Summary: 

Based upon the Tranter sourcing objectives, commodity strategy and initiatives, execute and develop the Optimal Supplier Base solution regarding Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost on the goods/services to be delivered to specified sites in line with Tranter Purchasing Process. 


Purchase materials, supplies, and services at the most favorable terms for the organization. Completes vendor qualifications and supplier audits.  Submits and evaluates bids for purchased goods and services and selects new suppliers. Monitors supplier performance and leads development initiatives internally and externally. Monitors PPV results and identifies new opportunities to reduce costs.

  • Able to create and present ideas or conclusions in a clear and persuasive manner, both orally and in writing  
  • Able to organize, schedule, coordinate, and assist in negotiations effectively and to set priorities in a manner which ensures maximum performance and goal accomplishment. 
  • Able to lead and influence others to drive continuous improvement initiatives 
  • Advanced Excel Skills 
  • Able to interpret drawings to effectively communicate internally and with suppliers 
  • Follows all purchasing procedures and SOP’s 
  • Comply with Organization’s Core Values and Leadership Competencies 



Education, Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Materials Management or Supply Chain Management is required.
  • 5+ Years of experience in Supply Chain Planning, or Materials Management in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Extensive experience utilizing an MRP System 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite  
  • APIC’s CPIM certified preferred 
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
