Position Summary: The Cross Categorical Teacher provides specialized instruction and support to students with a variety of disabilities in order to help them achieve academic, social, emotional, and functional success. This teacher collaborates with general education staff, families, and support personnel to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in inclusive and specialized settings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEPs) for students with disabilities in accordance with federal, state, and district regulations.
Provide direct instruction to students in academic, behavior, and functional skill areas based on individual needs.
Collaborate with other special and general education teachers to adapt curriculum, modify instruction, and provide accommodations.
Use data-drive decision making to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of IEP goals, services, and student performance.
Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and support positive behavior strategies.
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing updates on progress and participating in IEP meetings.
Supervise and collaborate with paraprofessionals and support staff working with students.
Ensure compliance with all IDEA, ADA, and state special education laws and guidelines.
participate in professional development and stay current on best practices in special education.
Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student independence and self-advocacy.

Beecher School District 200U is seeking an elementary school teacher for the 2020/2021 school year. Beecher Elementary School serves approximately 480 students in Pre-K through Fifth Grades.
