About the Role

The Junior Systems Administrator supports both on-premises and cloud-based systems, partnering closely with senior administrators and the IT Security team. This role contributes to the standardization and reliability of VitalCaring’s enterprise infrastructure, helping ensure our network and systems run securely and efficiently.

This position reports to the Director of IT Operations.

What You’ll Do
  • Assist senior systems administrators with daily operational tasks such as system backups and network monitoring

  • Support the security administrator with DLP (data loss prevention) and email threat monitoring

  • Manage devices (tablets, phones, workstations) using Microsoft Intune

  • Learn and document IT processes, suggesting improvements to enhance efficiency

  • Travel occasionally to branch locations to assist with network refreshes or standardization projects

  • Collaborate with Helpdesk and Application teams to troubleshoot software issues

  • Create “how-to” documentation for recurring tasks

  • Support virtualization projects using industry-standard technologies

  • Monitor and maintain storage capacity across file servers, virtual servers, and Azure environments

  • Manage user accounts within Active Directory

  • Assist with network maintenance tasks and equipment replacements as needed

What You’ll Bring
  • 1–2 years of experience with virtualization tools (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.)

  • 1–2 years of experience with email filtering and security tools

  • 1–2 years of experience supporting VOIP systems

  • 1–2 years of experience with Microsoft SharePoint

  • Familiarity with networking concepts, troubleshooting Windows systems, and PowerShell scripting

  • Hands-on experience managing Microsoft 365, including Teams, SharePoint, Exchange, Azure, and Azure AD

  • Working knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy Objects (GPOs)

  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work effectively with leadership and staff at all levels

  • Certifications (such as CompTIA, Microsoft, or Azure) are a plus
